We understand how overwhelming it can be to see an animal in need. We wish we could help every animal. Unfortunately, as a non-government-funded, foster-based rescue, we must prioritize cases based on our available resources, funds and foster homes. We appreciate your dedication to advocating for animals in need.

If you cannot foster, here is what we suggest.

Yes, we do!!
The process looks a little bit different and fees vary- this would all be discussed post adoption application approval. The process generally includes your adopted dog arriving to NB on transport, from there a Canadian foster would pick up your dog and care for them until they can be transported to you; once a transport date to leave for NL is arranged, that Canadian foster or another volunteer would transport your dog to the arranged drop off/pick up location. We are here to help!
Here are some options for transport
#1) Petsgo
Fees range from $150 to $500 CAD, this includes airline reservation, assistance with all required paperwork, and track and trace from origin to destination to ensure your pet travels as scheduled.
Crates must be airline approved. This means:
-
Made of plastic / vented on four sides / bolt together / have a metal door with a spring latch
-
Must have food and water dish inside
-
Must be able to turn around and lie down comfortably in the crate
-
Must be able to stand up fully with their heads up, head can not touch the roof of the crate
-
There must be three inches of space between the top of their head to the roof of the crate.
-
May require a health certificate or vaccination certificate.
Please contact Petso directly more information.

#2) Independent Truckers who volunteer to take a dog on their regularly scheduled trucking route
Fees have generally been $300 CAD cash payment directly to the driver at your pre arranged drop off location
Arrange with the driver and Team of Canadian Volunteers to arrange a drop off of the dog to the truckers. You are responsible for arranging and communicating a plan that accommodates the Driver and Canadian Volunteer who will be dropping your dog off to the driver. You will pick up the dog in your pre-arranged location in NFLD.
Contact Driver directly. Occasionally Craig will offer the name of another Driver who is willing and able to take your Dog

#3) Independent volunteer- Chalkmaster Dave
Fees are by donation only. Any funds you can contribute is greatly appreciated. Dave operates solely on donated funds to continue to transport dogs and do incredible work! (Costs associated with getting your dog to NFLD can be anywhere around $650-$700.). Dave would generally take 4-6 dogs at a time depending on size.
Arrange with AADR volunteers to arrange transport as we need to ensure Dave has a full transport.
#4) You travel to Nova Scotia to pick up your dog and take them home with you.
